I saw Bombshell last night was which was so funny because I keep saying it was Adam McKay, but it’s not as Jay Roach because it looks like an Adam McKay. Yeah, the trailer. Yeah, it is. And it’s obviously it’s about Megan Kelly and all the shit that went down in twenty sixteen where she was. You know, the initial thing was when she was interviewing the the now president and he, he said some comments about her afterwards went after. That’s what I believe it was I was going to be. They cover that. But it’s not it’s about, you know, the whole thing. Yeah. Well it’s more about what’s his face.
So shit else. Thank you. That was the episode I did have. As for you, was based on that exact thing else. Yeah. But it was based on that exact thing.
So Roger Ailes, who basically created Fox News and everything, you know, Murdoch owns it, but he was the one who kept running for a very long time. Russell Crowe also did a version of this on HBO. I want to see that, too. I heard it’s a better version. I heard it’s absolutely brilliant. But Bombshell’s is that HBO show. It’s Showtime. Yeah, but Bombshell is pretty good. And I credit a lot of it because of Charlize Theron.
I cannot let me ask you I cannot believe how good that makes crazy how you know my wife, how critical she is. She’s like, how did they do that? It’s prosthetics. It can’t just make I think it’s part and I think it has to.
And I wouldn’t have said it. There’s something else that happens inside of the movie that I think that they used a little like deep fake technology to she because and she looks exactly like there was a shot in the movie where they show Bill O’Reilly and he’s sitting down and he’s talking. It’s fake. And now after seeing the deep fake stuff on Collider and whether the technology is working like this, because this wasn’t the the Bill O’Reilly part of it, there’s no chance it was prosthetics. It’s him. It’s weird. And so anyway, so the performances, she’s really good in it.
Margot Robbie does a fantastic job, as does Nicole Kidman. They’re talking Oscar for everybody. I think Tyrone should be the one that gets the Oscar. And I think that Charlize Theron is the best as far as overall actresses to put Meryl Streep there. She’s the given, but I don’t know if Charlize Theron gets the recognition that that she should be. She’s really she’s turning into a chameleon because it is hard to be someone as beautiful as Charlize Theron and and just a recognizable star as she is. And you look and you just don’t see it. Well, that’s Charlize Theron. It’s not a monster.
That’s why she went right. She transforms. She’s able to do that the same way Bill does, the same way Daniel and I felt like was a wizard at that. Oh, he was a hundred percent like he was that rowdy guy in Twister. Yeah. I mean, like, she’s so good in this movie. She transforms. And I thought a lot of times she sounds like Megan Kelly. She did a lot of work. She’s great. And it’s and it’s the story about it’s before all the Weinstein stuff at the beginning of the beginning, how this movie to how it all happened is and it shows like the legitimacy of what was going on.
Yeah. But on a more of how you actually do the investigation of it, putting it forward, it doesn’t it doesn’t just rely on the social media rock throwing. It’s about the investigation and how these people would have, could have and should have stood up in the way and that that Gretchen was the first wanted to do it.
Nicole Kidman and I mean, how the women get got persecuted for it and so different from the way that it worked inside. Now, some people are going to think that I think any time you explore this, going to say how politically people are going to think that there’s no chance that people on the right side don’t think it’s a hit piece. There’s no chance.
But I understand and I understand right away they’re going to be protective of it because, no, that’s just the way politics are. Right. And it’s a very sensitive subject here. It is. But but I think that if you can separate it, which will be hard to do for anybody, easier said than done.
But if you can separate it and watch and look at the facts of this thing, it’s it’s crazy what happens, because even aside, when there’s a scene with Mark Duplass, who plays Charlize Theron as husband, and they’re sitting in the sitting in the car and she goes because she is how Megan Kelly talks about Roger Ailes had had years ago, you know, sexually harassed her. And he said and he she goes by like Roger. Yeah. She’s like a like him. He’s done some great things for me. He’s done this. He’s done that. And he’s been, you know, is who he is, the good stuff. But this is what he did. Right. And it’s like it’s just such a human thing.
It’s not Republican, not Democrat. That’s why I’m excited to see, because I like stories that let you decide, because we are all humans. We are all flawed. Things happen. And sometimes maybe someone isn’t a monster, but they do inappropriate things like. So I’m excited for that. Yeah, he certainly did what they did. We’re not talking. I don’t know.
I you know what he was, but he was I mean, this guy was you are the how are the real life women, John, by the way, plays Alexander. Oh. And he’s making us really good. He’s he’s awesome. So they have like the real and Kelly. And the more they thought about the movie, I don’t know. I mean, they have agreed to it, right? Oh yeah. Yeah. Because it’s a lot of. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. So anyway, so that looks, that trailer looks amazing.
Yeah. That’s the review. That’s the review of the week of the movie. So go and check it out, see what’s in the. My overall review, but I would say about three point nine out of five shows, wow, not pretty good because, you know, it’s so good to have a female driven film.
I love it and I love it. Yeah, it’s and it’s just it’s just an important film. I think it is. And it’s short, too. It’s it’s not one of these movies that Hamadoun for two hours, it’s like an hour for like three and a half hours. I didn’t care. I didn’t. Hey, listen now. Oh, wow. This is a movie. Hey, you got to watch making pictures.
