Full-text transcript of Night at the Museum 3 critical review:

So night of the night at the Museum Secret of the Tomb, which is the third installment in the ongoing not museum franchise, this time the tablet which brings all the waxworks to life is starting to go, is green and moldy, is the film itself. And so they decide that they have to go and find Armbrust father played by Ben Kingsley, who of course is in England. And they all come to the British Museum, which means that Regent Street is suddenly lit up with the night at the museum illuminations. I mean, it feels terribly cynical. It does.

It just reminds me of one of those variety shows in which you just applaud people for turning up rather than actually doing anything. It’s I mean, it’s not terrible. Dan Stevens has more fun than most people doing this kind of high Camp Lancelot. And they were a couple of giggles in it. But it does just feel like, oh, it’s Christmas. Here comes what is the current variety show, Christmas franchise with some special effects, some jokes and a load of famous people, some of whom aren’t with us anymore. Here it is. And you just sit and it’s it’s a shame because it just feels terribly mechanical. It’s not awful. It’s not awful. It’s just not any good.
