Summary:
Billy (Vince Vaughn) and Nick (Owen Wilson) are salesmen whose careers have been torpedoed by the digital world. Trying to prove they are not obsolete, they defy the odds by talking their way into a coveted internship at Google, along with a battalion of brilliant college students. But, gaining entrance to this utopia is only half the battle. Source: IMDBFull text transcript of the movie review of The Internship
I got 750 to pay everybody now. All right, cohosts, let me get on Google right here and see if I can search for a better movie.
We went there. I went there with. How about funny? Well, let me see. Formulaic, unoriginal, uninspired. Brought you from the two guys who were funny as hell and Wedding Crashers. But when they play interns because we’re talking about the internship. Yeah. Ain’t that funny. They should have went to MySpace. That would have been funny. They should have brought this up to spill. I’ll have biz by bringing me coffee on all fours.
Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson, they play salesmen who lose their jobs. And so these guys con their way into the Google internship program. Everybody at Google is no older than twenty two. So just like those eighties formula plots, man, they’re the old guys who have to go in and teach this gang of misfit kids how to succeed by having fun, fun, getting drunk, going to strip clubs is Rodney Dangerfield and back to school. It’s the guys going up against the Dean and Animal House. It’s Eddie Murphy cutting his way into the Beverly Hills Police Department. Nowhere near as good as those films. I mean, these guys are forty five years old, tops, and they make it seem like these guys are 80 years old.
Man like Jesus Christ. Grandpa, did you open up the door to get into here? You change a diaper that day, Wilson thought. But these guys, they’re not that old to where they don’t know who the X man I Charles Xavier.
Well, you found me out. Cyclops Road. We’re all here now. Come closer, babies.
Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson. They’re not Stetler Waldor from the Muppets. Wow. Owen Wilson, did you really need to go back to this old school? Formulaic bullshit. You only had an Oscar nominated movie. No. What do we get both these guys right here breaking it. Baby, I’m busy. But that fast talking guy, the big guy with a quick wit and patent on Wilson’s play. I’m that guy who talks like, I don’t know what’s happening even if I’m playing a car. My biggest problem with this movie is that it’s a commercial. But Google, they got slides in the damn place. Everything is free. If you look in the back. Right. You see open loop is passing. But I’m not trying to say that Google sponsored this movie. Are they putting your money in this movie? John Leiby is just a guy. He’s a director. This film that just seems to love Google. A lot of this was not shot at Google. It was a lot of it was shot in Georgia. It’s hard not to like it when these guys teach these kids how to let their guard down and just have fun. That feels good. Yeah, too bad you have to suffer these guys battling on with each other, trying to hope that one of the jokes that is just spewing out of their mouth works here.
Come on and get in here close. We can be seen in the crowd. We can see you guys. OK, good. You got it. We can hear you fine as well. Oh, great. Combined with this very, very, very trite script right here, I have to give you some bullshit.
Oh, man. It is nothing but pure bullshit. I thought the guys from the Wedding Crashers have lost their jobs later on in life and just want to go to Google, just interns. I want to see them like sexually harassing nerds when they’re trying to be the desk working nerds on the phone.
Oh, H.R.. Exactly. I need some help. And if they’re so old, why don’t you have them go do this at Yahoo! You know, I got seven fifty to pay everybody now.
